Can Colonics Prevent Your Illness?

By Brad Morgan

Colon cancer has the dubious distinction of being the second most prevalent form of cancer, second only to lung cancer. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people are diagnosed with this serious disease. What is to blame for the increase in incidence of colon cancer? Some would argue that the build up of fecal matter in the intestine is a large part of the problem.

To avoid falling victim to this and other colon diseases, many people are opting to try colon cleansing. The medical community, as a whole, however, does not recommend this course of action. They even claim it may be detrimental for your health.

There are other colon related diseases and disorders than can severely impact an individual?s life, and they can even result in removal of portions of the intestine through a colostomy.

When a significant amount of the small intestine is removed, it results in a colostomy bag, where fecal matter is no longer excreted through traditional methods, and is, instead, detoured into a bag that must be emptied on a regular basis.

This is an extreme, and extremely unpleasant, result of colon disease. It is no wonder that people want to avoid colon illness. They turn to diet and colonic irrigation in order to preserve the health of their colon as much as is within their power.

Those trying to maintain colon health through diet typically avoid artificial foods and preservatives, such as high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils. These foods can attack your colon because they are not easily digested and excreted; this may make the colon more susceptible to illness.

Again, while it is possible to eat all natural foods and still develop colon cancer, it is thought that foods laden with preservatives and chemicals greatly heighten the risk.

This constant abuse to your digestive system can impact its ability to absorb nutrients, and can result in chronic constipation.

If this happens, bowel movements are typically smaller. Many people do not even notice that they have a problem because they are still having bowel movements. What they don't realize is that the lining of their intestines are being coated with fecal matter that is not passing.

This can effect general health, because suffers become malnourished without knowing a problem even exists. Implementing a healthy diet will help minimize this problem. Natural foods pass naturally.

Diet is certainly necessary to prevent and alleviate colon illnesses. If built-up fecal matter is already present in the intestine, however, other measures are needed to remedy the situation. Since between five and twenty pounds of fecal matter may remain in your colon, it is necessary to pursue these other options.

When people have such high amounts of built-up fecal matter on their intestine walls, it may result in an overall feeling of ill health. Treating this with laxatives or hydrotherapy can be very effective. These colonic irrigation methods cleanse the bowels. They can then start to absorb nutrients and start working as they should.

A great boon to overall health, colon cleansing can also help you lose weight. People who have had regular cleansings report having shed pounds.

Would you benefit from a colon cleansing? If you have any of the following symptoms, you may find relief in colonic irrigation techniques: diarrhea, constipation, prostate problems, headaches, backaches, insomnia, inability to lose weight, fatigue, and gas.

These are just a few of the symptoms of that may suggest that your colon is not as healthy as it could be. - 31816
